Ini Edo began her film career in the year 2000 and has featured in more than 200 movies since that time. She is a Theatre Arts graduate of the University of Calabar. In 2008 she was married to American-based Nigerian businessman Philip Ehiagwina but they later divorced. In 2013, she was announced as a judge for the Miss Black Africa UK Pageant. Due to her philanthropic gestures, the United Nations appointed her as the United Nations Habitat Youth Envoy.
